Improve the Quality of Your Life by Hiring a Virtual Assistant

by Kevin Sinclair on January 27, 2010

In this fast-paced, high-tech world we live in there is just never enough time to accomplish everything we need to. So, if you are among those who run a virtual business, how can you possibly get everything finished in the time you have available?

Especially if you have a family to care for then you need to consider outsourcing some of your work to a virtual assistant. A personal secretary is more beneficial than you may have realized.

If you’ve been thinking that you really cannot afford to hire an assistant or are just reluctant to spend the money, then you probably should take a second look at your situation.

Your time is valuable. You really need to put a price tag on “your” time. Then, once you’ve made the comparison you’ll begin to understand why hiring a virtual assistant is likely the wisest move you can make. In fact, outsourcing some of your work to an assistant is smart for more than just economic reasons.

Business owners tend to overwork themselves and that takes a heavy toll on a person’s health. For your own sanity, find a virtual assistant, negotiate a reasonable fee for their services, and take some more time to just relax.

You’ve likely been depriving yourself of some much-needed sleep. Maybe you haven’t been eating properly. There is certainly no need to do your part in keeping the junk food industry flourishing!

Have you put on a few pounds? Maybe some extra exercise is in order. Be sure to see your doctor first. She or he might even recommend that you hire an assistant to help you live a healthier lifestyle.

It’s not difficult to find a virtual assistant; there are plenty available. You may need to shop around though. Some are quite excellent and versatile assistants. As such they are in high demand and their fees will reflect that.

A good place to start is placing an ad for a talented college student looking to make a few extra dollars on the side. Test them out on a non-critical assignment or two to see how they measure up. Do they have a good work ethic? Has the work been done to your specifications without your having to hold their hand? Can they meet your deadlines? If the answer is yes, then by all means hire them as your virtual assistant.

It’s a win-win situation. You get an inexpensive and eager helper, and they gain valuable real-world experience that will look great on their resume.
