Our Priorities: Doing What Matters Most

By Michael Angier

Has this ever happened to you? You’re working on a project and you start to think about another project or task you have on your list. You begin to question if the one you’re working on is the right one and your focus and energy moves away from the task at hand.

Not much fun is it? Without good clarity we can’t operate at our best. Without confidence in our plans, we cannot achieve our goals.

We live in a complex world. Time was when our choices were easier because they were simply more limited. Today, with so many things to choose from, it’s easy to get overwhelmed.

All too often, we avoid making important choices because we don’t want to make a mistake. Sometimes we choose what’s convenient and then second-guess our decision. When we do this we lose valuable time and energy because we’re conflicted.

Unless you’re a circus performer, it’s pretty hard to ride more than one horse at the same time.

A good coach, consultant or therapist can be invaluable in helping us to gain greater clarity and be confident we’re investing our time and energy in the best way.

As we discover our core values, we’re better able to make important choices. As we get clearer on what we want–and why we want it–we can be more effective and gain greater fulfillment.

But I’ve found very few people willing to invest the time thinking and meditating upon these things. Only a small percentage of the people I’ve encountered really know what they want. And most of THESE people still aren’t sure what they should be doing to get there.

Having so many choices can sometimes work against us.

But when we ask the right questions, objectively rank the values and examine the tradeoffs, we gain clarity and position ourselves for greater results.

How do you set and maintain your priorities? Do you know your most important goals? How do you sort out the projects that will provide the greatest payoff? Do you consider them carefully or do you just “shoot from the hip”?

I’m all for using our intuition and following our gut, but we also need to bring our left brain into the equation.

It doesn’t matter so much what system we use as long as we use one. Because not having this clarity–not handling first things first–can cost us dearly.

Clarity leads to power. More clarity equals more power. Better focus equals better results.

If you’re looking for some tools to do this better, we’ve developed a simple yet powerful system for ranking goals, projects, obstacles and even purchases. It’s called Priorities? (of course) and we’ve found it extremely helpful in making good decisions.

How to Blog Like a Pro & Profit Like a Guru

Filed Under (Business Success, Info Publishing, Internet Marketing, Small Business) by Kevin Sinclair on 27-06-2006

By Kevin Sinclair

How many times have you heard the words blog or web log or how about online diary? If you have been active online for the past few years, you’ve probably heard it thousands of times.

What you might not realize is that blogging is not only one of the fastest and easiest ways to get indexed in search engines but it is also a huge source of income that is just waiting for you to grab your share.

Blogging has actually been around for quite a while but only up until the past few years have online as well as offline marketers, become aware of how powerful this medium is.

You can find plenty of free to very inexpensive places to start a blog. A few of the top rated blog hosting services are Blogger, which is owned by Google, Wordpress and Moveable Type. If you already have a web hosting account somewhere, that runs cPanel & Fantastic, then you’re in luck, because Wordpress blog software is just a couple of mouse clicks away from installing on one of your domains.

The easiest to get started and set up would have to be Blogger.com, since they are not only free, but they have a very simple step by step process for creating your blog. The only downside to Blogger is that the features that they offer are very limited. The upside to Blogger is that it’s owned by Google, which is not a bad thing at all, if you know what I mean.

The most common ways that most Internet marketers are making a profit from blogs is by integrating Google Adsense into their blog. This is very simple to do and Blogger makes it even easier for you. You can also insert many other contextual advertisements into the blog such as Yahoo, Kanoodle, Chitika and many others as well as any other affiliate links you may have.

The other benefit to blogging is also the ability to add back links to your blog that point to your other websites. This is very important since the more back links that you have coming inbound to your websites, the better you will rank for the keywords you are promoting. You will also have to setup the proper keyword anchor links in your blog and on the pages of your websites that the links are pointing to.

Let’s look at a summary of what needs to be done in order to take advantage of blogging.

First, you need to setup a blog either at Blogger or one of the other online services mentioned earlier or create a blog on your own domain name and web hosting account.

Once you have your blog setup, it’s time to start monetizing it by adding in contextual advertising such as Google Adsense and or affiliate links. Now add in some targeted keyword anchor links that point back to your other websites.

All you have to do now is post to your blog a couple times per week and make sure that you are pinging after you make your new post. Sending out a ping is a way to let the search engines know that you have new content on your blog. The search engines will come to crawl your blog and start indexing your new content and follow all those targeted links that point back to your other websites. Are you starting to see how powerful this is?

Now just keep posting to your blogs and if you keep up with it and continue to add new content on a regular basis, you’ll start reaping the rewards of blogging.

Are You Chasing Your Visitors Away?

Filed Under (Business Success, Home Business, Internet Marketing, Small Business, Web Site Development) by Kevin Sinclair on 25-06-2006

By Terri Seymour of www.seymourproducts.com

To keep your visitors coming back, the main goals of your website are for visitor participation and benefits. Provide an interesting, beneficial and useful website and they will come back!

If your site is annoying you can be sure they will find another site to visit, never to come back to yours.

Here are some ways you can be sure to annoy your visitors: (they might not annoy all, but probably the majority)

** Frames - Chopping up a site with frames is a great way to get your visitors frustrated. These frames are very obtrusive and make navigation and reading your site much harder. They are also disliked by the search engine spiders.

** Overbearing Graphics - Not only are these blinking and flashing graphics distracting and unnecessary, they can also cause your site to download very slowly. Most people do not have the time to sit and wait for an extremely slow site, and will leave before even knowing what your site has to offer.

** No Contact Information - I cannot stress enough how important it is to have your email address and other contact info on every page. This will add credibility to your site and always give your visitors a reason to be assured that you can be reached when needed.

** Hard To Navigate -You want your visitors to be able to get around your site without trouble. Have your links all together in a place that is easily seen. Have them in the same place on every page.

** Inconsistent Page Design - I have been on some sites where after clicking on a link, I didn’t even know if I was at the same site. The page was totally different and did not have any of the same information or links as the previous page. After trying to find what I was looking for and not finding it, I left. Please keep your site design uniform and consistent. This will make it much easier on your visitors.

** Spelling and Grammar – Always proofread your web pages. Designing and building a professional website is a waste of time if it reads like a five year old wrote it. With spell checker, grammar checker, dictionaries, etc. there is no excuse for poorly written web pages!

** Too Many Banners -If you want banners on your site, set up a banner exchange page for this purpose only. Do not have your homepage or other pages so loaded with banners that there isn’t room for anything else.

** Hard To Read Text - Do not use fancy text or pale text on a pale background. The easiest to read is a dark text on a light background. Also, if you use a textured or print background, be sure that it is not hard on the eyes. One site I visited had a weave look background that made the text so hard to read, after a few minutes of looking around I had to leave because I was getting a headache. If you think it is easy to see get a few more opinions just to be sure!

** Music - Music used to be very common on the web. Practically every site you went to had music. More and more people started realizing that this was a major distraction and annoyance to a lot of people. If you really want music, have a choice for your visitors. Let them decide if they want the music.

** Lack of Content -You’ve got to have content. People visit a website to see what the site has that will benefit them. Useful, helpful, practical content can’t be beat! This would include resources, freebies, tips, ideas, information, interaction, contests, etc.

One thing you can do is visit several sites that pertain to your business. Study these sites and write down what you find annoying. Write down any reasons you have for leaving the site. Take note of what you like about these sites. Incorporate all these findings into creating a sharp, clean, useful website with nothing that will chase away your visitors!

Why did you fail at your last opportunity?

Filed Under (Business Success, Home Business, Internet Marketing) by Kevin Sinclair on 23-06-2006

You can’t leap tall buildings in a single bound.

How would YOU like a home-based business, where you do NO Prospecting … NO Advertising … NO Selling … NO Answering Questions … NO Speaking to Anyone … and make absolutely NO telephone calls?

This revolutionary (non-*M*L*M*) System is currently helping thousands of ordinary people around the world to generate themselves a substantial income, and fulfill their lifelong dreams of total financial independence … without all the drawbacks of a conventional business - and without the fear of rejection. No other business comes close to this.

Judge for yourself. Which other business do you know gets these results:
In 5 short weeks Jeff earned $159,000!
In 7 weeks Jason earned $225,000!
In 8 weeks Michael earned $96,000!
In 48 hours Jim $9000!
On her first day Linda earned $4100!

…Talk about leaping tall buildings. It is true and None of these people had to speak to Anyone.

STEP 3. Submit a Contact Request IMMEDATELY at the website. Just click Contact on the top or after the movie- it works both ways.

To your success,
