What’s better than Multiple Streams of Income?

Filed Under (Business Success) by Kevin Sinclair on 30-05-2006

Let’s begin by thinking about what Multiple Streams of Income means. Multiple simply means more than one and Income is money or its equivalent received for work you have done, services you have provided or products you have sold.

Those terms are fairly straightforward, but what is meant by “streams” of Income? If you and your partner both have jobs then does that mean you are getting Multiple Streams of Income? If you were to look up stream in the dictionary you would probably find references to a steady flow or current.

So yes perhaps a two-income family could be classified as Multiple Streams of Income as it is more than one income and it brings a steady flow of money into your bank account but this is not all that inspiring or revolutionary.

Here are a few thoughts to make this more exciting:
1. Change multiple from 2 to many more (20, 100, 200)
2. Change steady from being once a month steady to multiple times a day

Perhaps you can start thinking of a Torrent instead of a Stream. Multiple Torrents of Income.

And what could be better than Multiple Torrents of Income? You could have multiple torrents setup but they take up all your time and you can’t enjoy the fruits of your labor. Three terms that you may like to consider are:
*Systemization
*Automation
*Residual Income

Michael Gerber has an excellent book which talks about working on your business rather than in your business and one of the key points he makes is having operating procedures and systems. You make it so that you repeatable procedures. In the book he is treating your business as if it was a franchise. This means if at some point in the future you wish to sell your business it is much more attractive if you are not integral to the business.

When it comes to systemization if you take a look at McDonalds they have systems that teach how to follow the procedures - the gherkins are sliced and placed in such a way so they don’t fall out, the fries are heated to a certain degree and it is all made very simple so they can get fairly low-skilled people to do much of their work. You can apply the same in your own business so that you can focus your money on the areas which are hard to get done cheaply/well.

Systems are not just for other people but also for yourself so you can have a basis from which to follow - for example if you create websites then they can all follow a similar format.

Automation is very useful when you find you do something which is repetitive, complicated and/or boring regularly. We can take a very simple example - within Microsoft Word you might find you regularly type your company name XYZ Widgets Ltd - you could simply set up an autocorrect entry so you type in XYZ and it fills out the rest. There are many things that can be automated when it comes to computers - it can be done through macros, programming, scripts, and software.

This indeed is one of the big allures of selling products online is that you can set it up so you can sell a digital product and the person pays and gets instant access to the product and can sign up to your customer list which then immediately emails them the most common troubleshooting procedures and can also follow up to gather testimonials, to recommend upgrades, to promote products, services and affiliate products.

Residual income continues to come in after you have done the initial work. This does not mean there is not some additional work. An example might be rent on a property which continues to come in month after month. You may have to arrange repairs to the property and handle disputes but it is residual rather than linear income.

The final part of the equation to be considered is Other Peoples Time. Once you have procedures in place then you can get people to follow those procedures to build your business while you deal with the things that are going to bring in more money and concentrate on parts you enjoy. Commonly people are not great fans of tax and accounting so they hire people to do it.

You don’t have to be a great web designer or programmer to be great at Marketing products online - in fact there are some well known “gurus” who have never done any web design in their life and wouldn’t know how to either. The same thing applies to having a book in your name - “ghost writers” are nothing new and are not just for the big celebrities. Indeed all your research for your book can be done by other people too.

Being an author of a successful book can be a very good residual income as sometimes a book can sell well for many years.

Here’s to Multiple Torrents of Residual Income (MTORI)!

How to Succeed with Google Adwords

Filed Under (Business Success) by Kevin Sinclair on 28-05-2006

Google Adwords is the most sophisticated and popular pay-per-click advertising system on the internet. Unlike regular search engine listings, which are listed for free according to “relevance,” as defined by the particular search engine involved, Adwords are small text ads which usually appear to the right of the unpaid listings. Advertisers bid on specific “keywords”, which determines where the ad is displayed.

However, unlike other search engines, where placement is completely determined by the amount of the bid, Google uses a complex calculation which also takes into the account the popularity of the ad as well. Thus, an ad which gets clicked on a lot can end up in a better position than one with a higher bid. That’s how Google rewards the ad for relevancy, so it pays to create an ad that will invite clicks.

Advertising with Adwords has many advantages. First, the ad is displayed immediately, as opposed to waiting for sites to show up in regular listings, which can take months. Second, they can be highly targeted, meaning you can make sure you’re only paying for clicks by customers who are sincerely interested. Third, Adwords allows you to run several ad campaigns simultaneously, so you can test the results and experiment on the fly to constantly improve the quality of the ads. You can even track the “conversion rate,” or the actual number of sales generated by a given ad. This is extremely precise marketing.

The first step is to come up with the best possible list of keywords. This is extremely important, because if you bid on the same ones everyone else is bidding on, you will end up with very expensive clicks. You can use any of the many keyword search tools available (wordtracker.com has a popular one) to determine which keywords have lots of searches but not too much competition.

If you bid on enough low-cost keywords, you can do as well or better than if you had placed an expensive bid on a popular term. You can also place a limit on your budget, so that you can control how much your total expenditure is per month. You can also specify certain words you do not want included, so that you don’t attract a lot of clicks from people looking for something related that you don’t offer.

The ad itself consists of four lines: a title of no more than 25 characters, a description with two lines of up to 35 characters each, and a line for your url, also limited to 35 characters. The title is what really attracts attention. It should include the keyword you’re targeting, and should be as striking as possible so as to stand out from the crowd. If it’s truly attention-getting, it could end up getting more clicks than other, duller ads higher up on the page. Some suggest that it should be in all caps, and include a price if possible.

The description should include the major selling point of your product, and also include enough information to discourage clicks by unqualified customers. Make sure they know what you’re selling and what to expect, as well as what sets you apart from the competition.

Finally, make sure the URL listed takes them to the most relevant page in your site for what they’re looking for. Make sure the link is up to date and functioning correctly.

That’s it in a nutshell, although the nuances are quite a bit more complex than we can deal with here. Many resources are available on the net which go into greater detail. But now that you understand the basics, you should be armed with the information you need to explore one of the most potentially lucrative marketing tools on the internet.

Develop a High Performance Mind

Filed Under (Personal Success) by Kevin Sinclair on 25-05-2006

Scientists once thought that the brain we are born with totally determines our intelligence and mental potential. In some cases this certainly can be said to be true. But when it comes to the “average” and “above average” brain -– it seems we are all born with at least one very powerful potential.

What is that potential?

The potential to develop a high performance mind that more fully represents our true capabilities.

We now know that our brains are so changeable that a new scientific term had to be developed -– brain plasticity. And the scientific evidence in the last ten years has proven beyond a doubt that genius is not a born quality -– it is developed (and can be learned). And the same is true for high performance minds.

So how can this be accomplished? There are basically three secrets to developing a high performance mind.

Secret # 1

Genius has been directly connected to the number of interconnections between your neurons (brain cells). How are such interconnections created? Through mental challenge and stimulation.

So … although most brains could be said to be potentially equal at birth … after that, something new comes into play. We are far more than our genetic makeup.

Albert Einstein, for example, was severely dyslexic as a youngster. He actually had great problems learning to speak, and even walk. Yet he became one of the greatest geniuses of our time.

After his death it was discovered that his brain was basically different from the “normal” brain in only one way -– the density of interconnections he had created among his neurons. Einstein’s preferred method of bringing new insights into his mind was discovered after his death.

So the first secret to developing a high performance mind is the adoption of smart methods of “use” that will expand the complexity of your neural interconnections.

Secret # 2

The first secret (use) will develop the complexity of your brain, and your potential for genius-level thinking. But this brings us to secret #2 – the issue of “state vs content.”

The “content” of your mind corresponds to what you have managed to learn and remember. And this, in turn, tends to determine what you can think. Some psychologists claim we actually ARE our memory. They do have a point -– since it is the combined content of your conscious and subconscious memories that makes you unique.

But the “state” of your brain is quite a different thing indeed. The “state” of your brain refers to the actual physical characteristics of how your brain works. That is, how your brainwaves combine to create and use the “contents” of your mind.

For example, if your current mental contents are focused on solving a problem, but the “state” of your brain is locked into high stress Gamma brainwaves, the probability you’ll solve that problem is very low indeed because the “state” of your brain simply does NOT support your goal!

Secret # 3

So regardless of your IQ or memory banks -– the “state” of your brain creates and controls what you will (or will not) manage to achieve in your life. And stress is NOT the only limiting factor.

When it comes to actually achieving what you desire -– your ability to generate high performance “brain states” is the TRUE limiting factor. Until you learn to hold the brainwave “state” of high achiever, you will have built-in limits. This is a physical reality that no amount of “positive thinking” or goal-setting can overcome!

Do High Achievers Have Special Brains?

Numerous research studies have established the fact that super successful people all share certain personality traits and habits. But are the brains of these super successful people also somehow different?

The answer is yes! Absolutely!

Millionaires, for example, share a common brainwave configuration. And interestingly, it is very similar to that of many “psychics” — just applied differently.

Can This be Trained?

Can such unique brainwaves be trained? YES!

You can learn to literally duplicate a millionaire’s mental state -– from the inside out! I have taught this for over 35 years to my clients in a one-on-one environment. Want to know more? http://www.quantumbraingym.com/

Are Big Ticket PLR Items for Everyone?

Filed Under (Business Success) by Kevin Sinclair on 23-05-2006

As an online marketer you are always looking for fresh new products to promote. One of the fastest ways to acquire new products is to purchase Big Ticket Items with Private Label Rights (PLR). PLR Big Ticket Items usually start at around $147 for a range of 5 to 10 e-products that have not been previously released on the internet.

PLR Big Ticket Items provide you with a wide range of options in order for you to grow your online business, but are they really worth it?

Consider the Positives:

With PLR Big Ticket Items you buy an instant “business in a box” solution. This requires you to do no work on creating the product, and in addition these big ticket items typically come with a web site, professional sales pages and graphic images.

You receive a number of products that you can resell immediately after setting up your payment processor. All that remains is for you to market your products.

If you have an existing mailing list centered on your niche products, your financial outlay to purchase the PLR big ticket items can be viewed as an investment in which you can immediately make significant gains.

Further, with PLR content you typically have the right to use and repackage the content in any way that you can – depending on the rights and restrictions that come with the package when you purchase.

This provides you with a lot of flexibility when offering your product to end users. For instance, you may brand the products with your own (or affiliates) name and website. Although you cannot claim copyright to the product, by repackaging it with other PLR products you may be able to create a whole new product with a higher perceived value.

Consider the Negatives:

Although you purchased the products with the right to do anything with the content, you do not own the copyright. Even if you are encouraged to put your name on the product, you are unable to copyright it unless you make significant changes to the product itself, so that it becomes quite unlike the original product.

Another factor that you need to consider is that a limited number of other marketers will also possess the same PLR Big Ticket Items. This amounts to a small amount of competition.

There is also likely to be restrictions on the sale and use of the products. These are usually introduced to preserve the long-term value of the product in the marketplace. While this limits your marketing methods, it also stops other marketers from introducing too much competition and reducing the overall value of the product in the market place.

As the PLR products are introduced into the marketplace, some marketers may purchase products with Master Resell Rights, so you will be competing with a higher number of marketers than the original “limited” number who purchased the products with Private Label Rights.

Your Strategy:

Now that you know the benefits and risks of purchasing PLR Big Ticket Items, let’s look at your strategy for acquiring the products.

1. Are the products in your niche?

Don’t even consider purchasing the products if you think that you will be unable to resell them, or if you don’t plan to use them.

2. What level of Rights do you need in your business?

Do you need to own Private Label Rights for what you want to do with the products, or can you purchase them individually from other marketers with Master Resell Rights?

3. Understand the restrictions.

You may be attracted by the ability to own content that you can do anything with, but check out the things that you can’t do. For example, some common restrictions are that you are unable to resell the item on auction sites, or you must meet a certain price criteria.

4. Is the price affordable?

Don’t rack up credit card debt in order to get the products. Spend wisely!

5. What is your expected rate of return on your investment?

If you are spending $147 (or more) to purchase PLR Big Ticket Items, when do you expect to get that money back? How much profit do you expect to make once you’ve paid off the initial investment?

6. How do you plan to market the products?

A marketing plan is essential to knowing how to make money from any product that you promote. If you are purchasing PLR Big Ticket Items then it is important to consider how to market each item prior to purchase.

7. Can you include the products in Membership Sites?

8. Do some keyword research.

Are the products as popular as the owners claim them to be?

9. Will you add value to your website, your customers and your affiliates if you purchase the PLR big ticket items?

10. Can you give the products away for free?

If so, consider that the market may become flooded with the same products in the next 3 months by other marketers using this approach to gain subscribers,

Are PLR Big Ticket Items for Everyone?

Using your strategy, you will need to determine whether purchasing the PLR Big Ticket Items will enhance your business model and make it attractive. Beware of being caught up in a buying frenzy in order to claim the ‘latest to market’ products, especially if you have no plan to market them.

However, if you carefully consider your strategy then purchasing PLR Big Ticket Items can provide you with some heavy hitting products and tools that can seriously boost your online income, without the enormous time and effort required to create your own products.
